This waste basket has a cheap, tinny feel to it and is not painted well. In particular, on my basket, the black stripe around the rim is poorly painted and I'll have to retouch it myself in order to have it look right. I'll keep it, to save the hassle of a return, but given the cost I suggest that you spend your money on a different waste basket.

Very handsome line all around (also got the towels and tissue box), but here's what I don't get. If the line is "America Retold Apothecary White," why are these reproductions of BELGIAN apothecaries? Not that there's, uhh, anything wrong with that, but where, oh where, is the logic in this one? They couldn't find a nice American establishment to reproduce? Not one? What about Bigelow Chemists in New York?

I must admit I have only myself to blame for this purchase, as I did not read the reviews and did not pick up on "enamel" in the item description. I simply based my purchase on the photo. It does not look bad but it is very light weight tin (sort of like a cookie tin) and definitely not worth $30+ it cost!
