5.0 out of 5 stars Best written magazine on WWII February 15, 2006
Subscription Term Name:1 year
America in WWII is a well-written magazine. It focuses on stories from the homefront as well as the military. Many stories are told in the first person adding credibility and detail not found in other accounts. Solicited stories submitted are interesting and fresh perspectives of a bygone era. I read each issue cover to cover. Well-done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding New Magazine on WW II August 4, 2006
Subscription Term Name:1 year
America in WW II is a look at ourselves during the dark days of the second world war. It takes a different approach to the war by presenting actual first person accounts from the average GI and Sailor in addition to how life on the Home Front was at the same time. There are enough publications on this time period covering the generals, the armies and the tactics, but America in WW II actually brings the war home. There is truly something for every historian of World War II, no matter where your interests lie. The first WW II magazine I have enjoyed enough to actually subscribe to.

5.0 out of 5 stars My brother loved this! September 5, 2008
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
My brother is a WWII afficionado, because of the fact that both our grandfathers fought in the war. He loved this gift I gave him for his birthday. The old ads are great too.

5.0 out of 5 stars At least you knew who the enemy was in WWII June 13, 2014

Brutality. Casualties. Mistreatment of civilians and prisoners (on all sides). War is hell. But...... At least you knew who the enemy was, and America was, for a time, united. Compared to now, when you consider the extreme hatred between political parties, America was a better place. Yes. Descrimination existed. Still does. But at least then, men married women, and kids did not get thrown out of school for drawing a picture of a gun. This country is completely off the rails nowadays. This magazine takes me back to a better time in America. I have studied history for years, and am now able to contemplate and enjoy it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 77 y.o. dad loves it! February 7, 2013
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I bought this magazine subscription for my dad and he loves it. He grew up during WWII so reading stories about that time period really appeals to him and gives him a sense of nostalgia. I think it took over 2 months for the first issue to arrive and that was kind of a drag but since I had read that from other reviewers I just told him when to expect the first issue and then he wasn't disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars America in WWII December 13, 2012
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I love this magazine! My older family members were either fighting in the war, or lived its effects daily. This magazine helps me to better understand their upbringing and our country's history. For instance, I discovered how and why North and South Korea were divided and why one was established as a democracy and the other as a Communist state. Very interesting and informative.
