Kudlow for President!,
By A Customer
This review is from: American Abundance: The New Economic & Moral Prosperity
As an economist Kudlow is fantastic, as President he would be phenomenal. Kudlow is by far one of the most insightful and educational economists of our time. He has correctly forecasted the great bull run of the nineties and the economic prosperity that followed. It is great to see that the supply side is still alive and well. Many thanks to the author for this wonderful book. A must have for every personal library.

A Handbook for our next Republican President,
By A Customer
This review is from: American Abundance: The New Economic & Moral Prosperity
Mr. Kudlow has objectively laid out the case for Reaganomics and also given credit, where credit is due, to the buffoon currently occupying the Oval Office for those policies of Mr. Reagan which he has at least not totally reversed (eg., sticking with Greenspan and a hard dollar policy). The exposition throughout the book is lucid and easily understood--perhaps even by socialists. I hope that a copy of the book will be on the desk of every economic policy maker in Washington in January 2001. A splendid effort.

Must read for all investors.,

With this compilation, Kudlow explains the underpinnings of the current economic prosperity in the United States. From Schumpeter's "gales of creative destruction," to the start of the supply-side revolution in the mid-1980's, to the current information-based economy, this book provides keen insight into the way the world works. Kudlow exposes the danger and deceipt of current Keynesian/Phillips curve thinkers and outlines an optimistic path toward continued prosperity. Outstanding!!

Solid Book with Interesting Ideas,

Larry is one of the sharpest minds on Wall Street. His critics accuse him of being Pollyanna-ish at times. They're right. However, if that's the worst accusation hurled at him he should count his blessings. After all, it is optimism which has led the U.S. to such staggering success. This book is open, honest and cleverly written. It has a number of great ideas, including the "four dead bodies" theorem which encourages looking at the full spectrum of inflationary signals, rather than focusing on one alone, like gold.
A great read..

"Great book , great insight on the market and this country",
By A Customer
This review is from: American Abundance: The New Economic & Moral Prosperity
Larry Kudlow is a briliant writer and he brings his great personality that he shows on TV to the book. A unique and insightful book that goes deep into the market and America. If you are a fan of free market economics this is a book to read.

If there is a single person who truly understands today's economy, Kudlow is that person. He truly understands what makes this great country tic. My only hope is that some of the beurocrats in Washington read a copy of this book and learn how to properly run a national economy instead of trying to get a b.j. from every intern on the payroll.

This review is twelve years late!
With rumors of Larry running for the US Senate from NY (probably wishful thinking by his fans), and with his outstanding TV show going strong, this is still worth a read. If you need to find a $4 purchase to qualify for free shipping, do your self a favor and order this uplifting personal saga and supply-side manifesto. Larry Kudlow is one of the clearest economic policy thinkers in America.

Hope He Reads It!,

I sent a copy of Kudlow's "American Abundance" to Gov. George W. Bush about a year ago. He was nice enough to acknowledge that he did receive the book. At that point in time, I had no idea he would be such a strong candidate for president. Hope he reads this book! As should anyone else interested in the key to economic prosperity.

Highly recommended!,

I have always admired men who will not allow their ideology to be challenged by facts, and Larry Kudlow is just such a man. In this enjoyable book, Larry bravely describes his personal challenges in a very admirable and forthright way, ranging from his termination as chief economist at Bear Stearns to his treatment at Hazelden for cocaine addiction, and the incident of his third wife's `fall' down a flight of stairs. But I most admire Larry's integrity because he never allows the less-than-stellar "real world" performance of his ideology to deter him. Many supply-side propagandists would simply give up after discovering that their ideas only brought misery and economic failure, but Larry, to his immense credit, refuses to give up the good fight. Armed with a logic-defying array of arcane statistics, Larry surveys the economic landscape and finds support for his supply-side cause much like a creationist might survey fossil records to advance his non-scientific beliefs. Personally, I find Kudlow's use of statistics to be extremely creative, often reminding me of some feverishly atonal jazz composition, in which the artist is completely unbound by recognized rules of logic and reason. Yes, some naysayers consider Kudlow's understanding of the economic landscape to be limited, but in this book he rarely betrays his lack of formal training or his mental inflexibility, except when he touches on matters of basic economic policy. In sum, this book is heartily recommended for supply-side zealots and for others unfamiliar with the work of John Maynard Keynes.
