(CORRECTION TO VERSION 1) LINE 1: `FOUR' NOT FOR WEEK

After I had completed a four week seminar at the Euro Center Language School in Alexandria, Virginia, my teachers gave me the best training marks a student ever got there: four `10's. Nevertheless, American native speakers were still able to detect my German accent in my English. Then I found Ann Cook's AAT in a book store in Washington D.C. I started an intense training. Recently I attended an English class in Munich, Germany, where I live. The teacher, an American from New York, wanted me to leave the class room because she thought I was an American who wanted to pull her leg by coming to her class. By the way, it's never too late to start with AAT: I'm 60 years of age. Anybody can do it if he or she tries hard.

I am so glad to give myself this book with the audio cassette. It is very informative. It trains me while listening to the tapes. I recommend that people who buys the book gets the tape too. It won't be effective without it. Believe me it is worth your money.Buy for yourself or for someone you love.

American Accent Training is really an amazing porgram! I love it! I will use it as the textbook in our English Club for advanced-level class! And by the way, the English Club is in National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. I strongly recommend this program to everyone learning American English!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent book to learn pronunciation., December 15, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: American Accent Training: A Guide to Speaking and Pronouncing American English for Anyone Who Speaks English As a Second Language (Paperback)
After I spent 14 months in school learning English I received my ESL certification. However, although my understanding of, writing, and reading in English were proficient. My pronunciation was very poor and many a time I had to repeat my words for people to understand me. When I found Ann Cook's AAT I knew I had what I needed to overcome this problem. I finished the whole book in a matter of days and I noticed the great difference, some people don't believe English is my second language. Thanks Ann for this excellent way to help people like me with pronunciation problems. I have recommended this book to many of my friends, it's been very helpful for them as well.

Excellent Approach. A practical book to grasp the nuances of American Pronunciation. Very intersting too. I wish the publisher provides a CD instead of tape.
