Australia brings to mind images of the Great Barrier Reef, great white sharks, huge crocodiles and friendly people. Zane Grey fished everywhere, but he often found himself lured back to the Pacific especially around Australia and New Zealand. Most of the fish caught in An American Angler in Australia are sharks (great white, tiger, even a few carpet!) but you can't go big game fishing in Australia and not expect to be teased by marlins.

About the Author
Zane Grey was born in Zanesville, Ohio in 1872. He attended the University of Pennsylvania on a baseball scholarship and became a dentist. In 1905 he married Lina Roth. They had three children, and eventually moved to California where Zane could both experience the West and write about it. He was one of America's most prolific authors, writing almost 90 books.

Have not yet finished reading, but there it is : Zane Grey in its well-known prose at its most....and even better for whoever loves fishing.
Have read most other works more than once and will probably end-up doing the same with this one.
