5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, September 24, 2007

Some really good rock and roll! It's very moody and cinematic, too. There's some bluesy ballads, some "speeding in your car" stuff and even a couple groovin' tunes! A must for anyone that loves new bands, but always goes back to the classics when thirsty for some great tunes to dig when you're out cutting the lawn or something. It's their best work yet, and I think they are really onto something here with the title American Anthems. The lyrics are full of nostalgia much like the classics, and never fall short of a great melody at the least! I cannot wait to see them live in Philadelphia!

If you are a fan of real rock and roll, then you need to buy this album. If you are sick of record-company produced bubble gum music, then you need to buy this album. If you are looking for a CD with great music from start to finish, then YOU NEED TO BUY THIS ALBUM.

There really is not a bad song on this album. Personal favorites include "Moonshaker", "Highway to the sun", "Oak Ridge" and "Bullet Train."

Buy this album. You will NOT be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars A long distance fan, August 16, 2008
This review is from: American Anthems vol. 1 (Audio CD)
I knew this band back in the day, when they were touring the mid-west. I saw one of thier shows and I was hooked on their unique sound. From Missle Command to THis is a Stick-up, You can hear the progression of this band from a raw urgency to a more controlled contemporary sound. I still love the music and I'm sure you will as well. Give 'em a listen, and you'll be hooked to.
