Not what I expected,
By
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
I was disappointed in this book. Probably because I expected something a bit different. What I expected was a book that would speak to those who have a good understanding of prophecy and are aware of current events, but would bring some new insight to the obvious. This book did not do that.
I found it tediously repetitive; rehashing the same points over and over. That kind of writing really wears me out. I can absolutely say I learned nothing new from this book. Having said that, if anyone wants a crash course in prophecy and is clueless about what is going on around them, this book will educate them and get them on the path to understanding. I don't think it was a bad book. Just wasn't what I hoped it would be.

This Prophecy will soon come to pass, are you ready?,
By
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
Terry lays out the USA's purpose for it's existance. This nation has sent the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the 4 corners of the world on technologies God has used this nation to produce. God said the end would come after this Gospel is preached to all the world as a witness. He points out the major events happening in the world now and how they relate to prophecy. The USA has been a mid-wife to the birthing of the Nation of Israel, and he shows how it came to pass. With God He has never really dealt with Jew and the Gentile at the same time. When Israel rejected it's Messiah, God went to the Gentiles with the Gospel message. Since we are coming to a close of the times of the Gentiles, events are now forming where the Gentile shall soon take a back seat and the Jew will take the forefront. Terry makes these points clear, and gives a strong reasoning as to where the USA will be when focus turns again to the Jew. God's Word is literally screaming at us propheticly thru the news we see and hear everyday now. Soon, very soon now God will call His Church up to Himself. Then the Spiritual vacuum left behind by the absence of God's Church will bring out the worst possible in all of mankind, and then God will punish man for his evil wicked ways! The story doesn't have to end with doom and gloom for you. Read Terry's book! Especially if you are one who has never made a decision about God and His Son Jesus Christ. This book in conjuction with your Bible will make almost any non-believer believe while watching what is unfolding in the current news now proving the Bible for what it is, the Word of God! This book is a must read for those who want to understand endtime Prophecy as written in God's Word!

What you need to know about America's role in the Last Days.,
By ExSoldier "Jim" (Miami, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
By and large this book answered the gnawing questions I had on the subject. Why doesn't the Bible make specific mention of the greatest and most powerful nation on the planet during the End of Days? We can guess at GOG & MA-GOG and Babylon, etc. Of course Israel is all over the place in prophesy, so why not the U.S. of A?
Well, according to Terry (I love his site, Rapture Ready and I have an essay on the site as well), we ARE mentioned ... indirectly. Okay. It makes sense, too and the inferences fit with the great web of history. I won't be too specific because I don't want to ruin the revelations, lol. I have a couple of ... well okay, THREE complaints on the book: #1 It makes reference to several events of "miracles" happening during the various wars that overtook the Jewish state in it's infancy, without providing sources or specific examples. I have always known that Israeli soldiers are among the toughest, most highly motivated and most highly experienced warriors in the world. The battles they fought and won were perfect examples of good tactics (I speak as a former US Army Infantry Captain) but I never heard of miracles. Can't we just credit God with being in control of everything, anyway? That's about the best that can be said on this subject. I've been a public school teacher for the last 20 years, specializing in social studies and especially military history and his references are the very first I've heard of that nature. #2 Terry's MADDENING habit of using the venerable King James (bias?) version to exemplify scripture. I almost quit several times because the SAITH's, thees, thous and other obscure verbiage almost put me to sleep while simultaneously driving me mad with confusion. I detest the KJV of the Holy Bible. If I'd had to rely on that for guidance on my questions as a "baby" Christian (decades ago), I'd probably still be a pagan. #3 The content seems to keep repeating in a manner that almost makes me think it was by design to pad the page allowances. It's longer than it needs to be. I have the book high lighted (neon yellow), underlined and with notated in the margins, just as I do to all of my books (even novels). It is well worth the effort to SLOG through the KJV of scripture in this book. Give it a read!

Excellent,

Terry shows secular American history through the lens of Biblical worldview, leaving the serious seeker of knowledge very little, if any, doubt that God is, indeed, still in total and complete control, which I personally find of immense comfort in troublous times such as these.

As Timely As Today's Newscasts,
By
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
Usually I can't do two things at once, like walk and chew gum, but I've found I could easily watch any news program or news commentary the past month on TV and read the latter part of this novel at the same time. The news on TV was echoing the discourse of Mr. James' book. In fact, I consider this book more comprehensive (such as a history book or an encyclopedia.) I literally had to read some, consider those thoughts or information, and then continue on. We have a lot to digest with all that's happening moment to moment in these last days. Those events which have not happened yet we, as readers, can see happening right around the corner. Those of us who have studied Bible prophecy for years can agree with Mr. Terry James: we are watching Israel and praying for her. We have seen our economy bottom out and we, like he, were not taken by great surprise. We see godlessness prevailing in our nation; and we know satan is trying to chase our youth--the hope of our nation--right into the depravity of hell. Wars, famines, the breakdown of the family--daily news programs, faint Bible scriptures preached in our past, an economy barely afloat, trying to fit it all together--this book relates in plain English what everyone needs to know. I pray that all who read this book for historical reasons do not miss the invitation to turn to Jesus in the closing days of the grace dispensation. If their hope is in God and their live is dedicated to Jesus, they will see The American Apocalyse in the context of the eternal plan. Then, watching the news each day such as the turmoil in the Middle East, or in the whole world for that matter, will bring peace of mind instead of fear... and will, by understanding The Bible better through books like Terry's, bring courage to face the future.

Wow. I expected the "same 'ole" kind of doomsday book, but this one was frightenly spot on in its analysis of where we are in world today and how prophesy fits in. How the author describes the US in this process is SPOT ON. This is a must read for everyone - not just Christians.
Wake up. Before it's too late.

Not too late to heed this book,
By
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
If you are a Christian (the born again variety as described in the book) then you will understand exactly what this book outlines; historic, present and future- regarding America's place in God's Sovereign Plan. If you are not, then this book will probably seem fanatically zealous (exactly how my children often refer to me). Yet, this stark contrast of perception provides strong evidence of one of the basic tenants of the book. The relationship between history, religion, revisionism, culture, politics, economy, one world, and what is soon to come are covered here with an unabashed Christian worldview. Supported by the use of prophetic Scripture that must be believed to be seen, Mr. James does a good job of making his points believable and seeable. But the reader still has to open his/her eyes, not to mention mind.

Very Insightful,
This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
The American Apocalypse needs to be read by everyone. It describes, in a very understandable way, the path the world is on with regard to biblical prophecy.

This review is from: The American Apocalypse: Is the United States in Bible Prophecy? (Paperback)
This book speaks to what is going on in the world today and how a literal interpretation of bible prophecy can be used to understand what is likely to happen in the future. Mr. James explains in layman's terms using scripture to make a clear case that American must lose her superpower status in order for the will of God to be fulfilled.
I recommend this book to everybody who wants to understand what America is coming to.

I was born again in 1993, and though every day is a struggle to do God's will, God provides support in different ways at differnt times..and Terry is one way of God's support.
The American Apocalypse is timely, accurate and easy to understand. One day soon, after The Lord has called us home, this book will be one of the tools God uses to continue to save those who are lost! dale/ oak harbor, ohio usa |
