Run big, especially for American Apparel, December 30, 2011

These yoga pants are nice, the color is pretty, they have a nice feel - but they run big, and they fit loose. I usually wear a medium legging, and size 9 pants - i got these in medium, and they are quite baggy on me, so much so that I suspect even a small would fit a bit loosely - HOWEVER, i can't exchange these! As a warning to all would be American Apparel shoppers, they will only accept exchanges for yoga pants if they are defective or damaged. This is their policy regarding MOST of their clothes. I have to say, it's really a problem buying clothes online if you can't exchange things that don't fit correctly, especially considering how much sizes vary from brand to brand. If someone who normally wears a size 9, fits less than snug in SMALL leggings, then they really aren't sized well. I recommend avoiding buying American Apparel leggings, swimwear, and bodysuits. There are online clothing merchants who will guarantee your satisfaction, and will allow you to return anything you buy; like Victioria's Secret for example - and they sell all kinds of leggings and swimwear, and at very competitive prices compared to what American Apparel is charging here.
