This review is from: American Art in the Newark Museum: Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture (Hardcover)
I ended up buying this book out of frustration from the poor quality of the book "Newark Museum: Selected Works." Unfortunately, the art reproduced in this book is mostly in black and white because it was published in 1981. Nevertheless, the book is still worth the money and gives you a good overview and reference to the American art at the Newark Museum. I've always felt that Newark's American collection is it's most impressive and unique element, and the only reason I ever visit it. The museum also owns a huge collection in its archives (for example, it has the largest collection of WPA art in the world). It is really a crime that a new, full-color edition of the museum's American collection has not been published recently, but beggars can't be choosers!
