The middle layer is made of soft polyester filler and the back is made of 100% waterproof vinyl. The cover measures 15" x 33". Machine wash warm with like colors and use non-chlorine bleach when needed.

So, the other review for this product really made me hesitate to order it because I thought it was going to end up being something other than what it says it is. IT IS EXACTLY what it says, a waterproof, quilted, bassinet mattress pad. Yes, it has elastic around it so it "covers" the mattress. Don't let a negative review discourage you from ordering this if you want something that will add padding and comfort to your bassinet! Fits great and works great!

this pad is exactly what i was looking for, but it didn't fit my oval bassinet pad from The First Years Carry Me Near 5 In 1 Bassinet.
American Baby Company ONLY makes bassinet mattress pad cover in RECTANGULAR PADS, not oval pads. the top of the pad is cotton and the bottom is vinyl ... the vinyl had a strong plastic smell when i took it out of its package... but i'm sure the smell will fade after a washing. it's not as padded as i thought it would be, but it will do for the price. and yes, it's made in China.
