This review is from: American Baroque Plays Telemann (Audio CD)
This exciting Baroque instrumental group using period instruments performs with passion and integrity music primarily from Telemann's "Essercitzii Musici" and "Tafelmusik."

Especially crazy about the oboe concerto, here marvelously intonated and phrased by Gonzalo X. Ruiz. The flutist Schultz is likewise superb, as are the strings and harpsichordist.

There is distinctly here the sound of the period, which my ear truly likes, as it seems to take off some of the edge of today's instruments.

This chamber style music is very relaxing, yet stimulating. Many find it edging boredom at best, but I'm definitely a great fan, and will seek out more such from American Baroque and other groups.
