Revamp of older book - good pictures,

This book was very good remake of Alan Pater's compilation "United States Battleships; The History of America's Greatest Fighting Fleet" from 1968 with a whole slew of extra information. Each history is now accompanied by pictures of the ship and the additional material from the veterans group is extremely interesting. The ship histories are short, vague and out of date due to the eighties recommisionings but all information is in reasonable agreement with other reputable sources. The veteran pictures and biographies are pleasant and add faces to history. While not a must-have book it is definitely a worthy addition to any enthusiast's bookshelf
