Perhaps it is the price, but American Beauty has created a soldering system whose elegance is almost too astounding to communicate. Unfortunately their marketing of it is hopeless. This system's lowest setting I calculate to be about 330 watts, and its highest is 1800 watts. There are NUMEROUS intermediate settings, so you can dial in precisely the power you want. But the true brilliance of this system is you can buy this unit, and the companion American Beauty unit 105L9, which is up to 250 watts, and ALL the hand pieces with the American Beauty plugs are completely interchangeable to BOTH. Now you have the universe from 0 to 1800 watts covered. To truly appreciate this system you do have to buy all the associated different hand pieces and attachments. Unfortunately most of these hand pieces are not offered on Amazon, I had to get mine from MrcroMark. But when you get done you will wonder how you ever soldered before. The carbon pliers heat copper tubing so mildly you wonder if the unit is even working...until the solder melts in a beautiful circular pattern because of the four carbon contact points. The pin vice, the carbon point electrodes of every size, make this system the only one you ever need for soldering.
