Don't Leave Home Without It...,

I can not imagine ANYONE going on vacation to Vegas, and not having this book tucked into their carry-on luggage!!Plenty of info to read on the plane about each casino, including what times the Bellagio Fountains go off, the Mirage volcano, etc, etc. Information in the book about how to play different types of table and casino games (Keno, craps, etc). The coupons alone make this book invaluable. My favorite? - The two-for-one coupon at the Silverton Casino (Blue Diamond Rd and I-15 in Las Vegas). Friday night is their fantastic seafood buffet. Normal cost for the buffet is $20 per person...use this two-fer coupon, and you have saved the cost of this book and MADE a few dollars. You can't go wrong with this book - I love it and buy it every year!!

New Coupon Procedure Not Well Thought Out,
By Kevin Murray (Ft. Lauderdale, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: American Casino Guide, 2004 (Paperback)
I get this book every year and find it to be a great source of savings. However, this years edition requires you when using the coupons to comply with a new condition printed on the coupon. It states: "Offer void if detached from book. This coupon should only be removed at the time of redemption." The author states in his remarks in the book as well as his remarks here on Amazon that this was done as a reult of abuses and counterfeiting of the coupons. I can understand this and have no problem with this. My problem is the fact that there are three coupons per page and the coupons do not have preforations to easily remove the coupon at the time of use. This is especially hastlesome if you need to use the middle coupon, as you usually end up ripping the top and bottom coupons trying to evenly remove the center coupon. A little common sense and forethought should have been used when designing the coupon section of the book......maybe next year's issue will come with a pair of mini scissors. Other than this years coupon 'preforation oversight' this book is well worth the money.

American Casino Guide 2008 Edition -- Las Vegas,
This review is from: American Casino Guide (Paperback)
ACG-2008 continues as an outstanding buy, in particular for a LV resident. The casino food 2fers' pay for themselves in a short time and anything else (hotel room reservations and auto rentals for visitors, etc) are always useful. Most residents buy 10 or more books. You just can't beat the value. stanleyjoel

A Must Buy,

For the last 5 years I've made a habit of traveling to Las Vegas a couple times a year. When it comes to travel for me it's all about getting the most bang for my buck. At first I was understandably a little reluctant to shell out the money for a book full of coupons to a place I was only going to spend a week of the year at however after researching the coupons found in the book (you can get a complete listing at [..] I decided that it would easily pay for itself.Boy did it ever. If you like to casino hop like I do just the matchplays and the free play coupons make this a more then worthwhile purchase. This is in addition to all the great buy one get one free buffets and meals at varius casino restraunts (many of the places will even let you use them on their specials - I went to the Diner at the Golden Gate and they allowed me to use their buy one get one free on their prime rib special - 7 [..] for 2 prime rib dinners with the works... talk about a deal !) Other features in the book such as basic overviews on different casino games, a pretty good map of casinos on the strip, near the strip, and downtown along with contact info for each casino and other details are also pretty helpful. I've already ordered my copy for 09 and will continue to do so for each subsequent year that I take a trip to Vegas. This is a great purchase.

Gambling--Yummy,
This review is from: American Casino Guide, 2000 edition (American Casino Guide) (Paperback)
Like to gamble? Me too! This guide tells you where all the casinos are in the good old USA. There are maps, plus detailed city maps of Las Vegas, Tunica, Biloxi, and others. It has strategy tables for blackjack and coupons for various discounts and freebies. You'll find me at a video poker machine--see you there! Good Luck!

Coupons yes, but can you use them,

A new edition of this book comes out every year. The main reason to purchase it more than once is the coupons included. Several years ago these included good deals on rooms, etc. This year, 2010, I found most of the coupons had no value. Many were 2 for 1 deals, that could not be used as a single traveler. Others might get you to a restaurant, but you could get better prices elsewhere. The book remains useful if you are planning a trip to a new destination.

2008 American Casino Guide,
By
This review is from: American Casino Guide (Paperback)
A "must have" book for anyone planning a trip to Las Vegas. A great reference source for casinos anywhere in the USA, but with tremendous amount of information on Las Vegas (things to see, things to do, best deals, etc.). Section in the back of the book contains dozens of discount coupons for rooms, food, sight seeing, gaming, etc., that can pay for the book many times over, in most cases.

Super guide to American casinos,
This review is from: American Casino Guide, 2000 edition (American Casino Guide) (Paperback)
I first purchased Mr. Bourie's annual book many years ago, andlook forward to each new and expanded edition of his work. He tellsyou practically everything you need to know about casino gaming, then describes the basic offerings of every casino in the country, and then provides coupons that will save you hundreds of dollars when you visit many of the casinos listed. What else could you ask for? Any casino player who doesn't purchase this book every year is missing the boat!
