This book is the first on this subject ever to be published. Author Judith Izen is well known for her knowledge in the doll field, and this book is one of her best yet. A thorough history of the company is included, along with hundreds of color photographs.

ABOUT JUDITH IZEN
Judith Izen is a doll historian and toy industry researcher. She is a noted authority on dolls of the Baby Boomers. In addition to her COLLECTOR'S ENCYCLOPEDIA OF VOGUE DOLLS: IDENTIFICATION AND VALUES, coauthored with Carol Stover, she has authored books on AMERICAN CHARACTER DOLLS and IDEAL DOLLS.

She is a columnist for Doll Collector Magazine and her articles have appeared in publications including Doll News and New England Antiques Journal. She also lectures on a variety of doll subjects.

A former medical researcher, she has degrees from Boston University and the Harvard School of Public Health. She always welcomes new information about dolls. You may reach her via her website: dollsofourchildhood.com.

This is a wonderful book, full of nice clear pictures of the dolls, accessories, and clothing- including unmarked dolls that are often unidentified or misidentified.
This is a MUST have book for any doll collector!

A most comprehensive and well-researched book! Having contributed to the Tressy section of the book (look for pics from my collection!), I must say that this guide is a must have for Tressy collectors as well as for those who collect other American character dolls.

American Character Dolls by Judith Izen is a book you don't want to miss! Any doll collector or doll lover will find this book to be one of the best you will ever read. What a treasure and invaluable tool for the collector. Such a nice touch to have a signed book by this author. Very fast shipping. I highly recommend this book.
