This was purchased as a gift for home use, so this review is not based on professional use of the product.

It came quickly and well packed. I had not complaints with the company.

Assembly was easy, just add batteries and attach the ball to the stand. It connects using a cotter pin that just slides on. The stand can be placed on a table or hung from the ceiling (it has a wire half-moon that would connect over a hook attached to the ceiling). The light comes with 4 color covers.

Everything worked out of the box without issues. About the only complaint I have is when changing the color discs, you unscreww the outer plate of the light. I found it takes a few tries to get it screwed back on. You have to line it up just right. Otherwise, excellent product.

The minute-or-so-long video that I uploaded shows the American DJ MB8 Combo 8-Inch Mirror Ball Kit in action. The video was shot in darkness so that all you'll see is the disco ball slowly rotating and the effect that this product provided for a kid's party. This product helped to create the perfect party "vibe" (as you'll hear on the video clip). We mounted the ball on the ceiling, installed the light on the wall, and inserted the blue filter. The ball and light worked beautifully throughout the whole party, which lasted three hours. Everyone loved the party, and I have to say that the little disco ball and light worked as hard as the D.J.!

Oh, and the kit arrived swiftly. We ordered it only three days before the party. This product is one of the few last-minute purchasing decisions that I'll never regret.

This mirror ball is awesome and was my 6-yr. old daughter's favorite b-day gift! The price is great for what you get. We liked that you could mount it on a stand, as we can set it up in different rooms that way. You can also mount it from the ceiling though. It slowly rotates for a really pretty effect in her bedroom at night. The separate lamp comes with color covers, but we haven't used that much because the metal lamp gets REALLY hot, so we worry that it could be a fire hazard if left on too long (the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars). Overall, a terrific buy!

This product arrived in a timely manner and was well packaged. The light appears to be heavy duty - made out of metal, the ball is made out of plastic, so it seems to be slightly lower in quality. However, it runs on battery so there's no wire to run. It works great. I would highly recommend this product. We had a great time using it during my daughter's 'rock star' birthday party. Great fun!

This was THE HIT of our Halloween party! We had been thinking it might be "kind of" fun to have a disco ball for the kids' parties or get-togethers, and we finally decided to get one in case it rained on the night of our Halloween party and guests couldn't get outside. We thought it MIGHT encourage more people to dance. WHO KNEW!?! Disco balls are like magnets, apparently. Our dining room/dance floor was full of adults AND kids, all playing with the sparkling lights on the floor and walls. My kids wanted to leave it up for days afterwards, and we ended up having (very silly) family "dance-offs" for a few nights before finally packing up the ball, light and filters. Barely a day has gone by that my kids haven't asked to get it out again, and my 8 year old son is dying to get it back up for his upcoming birthday.

Specifics- it was ready to go right out of the packaging. We just hung it on an existing hook, set up the spot light, and it was ready to go! It comes with several different filters to go over the white light, and we spent a bit of time deciding which was "spookiest" for the Halloween party (blue, by the way). The quality is excellent for the price, though we did save all the original packing to store it in between uses because it probably would get banged up pretty easily if stored in anything else.

I got this for a party and tested it out and it worked fine. Then the day of the party I noticed it ran for about 5 minutes then stopped spinning. If I shook it and toggled the switch a few times it would start going again. Yeah, that's really a fun thing to do during a party. I tried everything to fix it. I tried 3 different new batteries. I opened it up and reconnected all the wires. I sprayed it with WD40. I tried it both upside down and on the stand. I never could get it to go for more than 5 minutes. Don't waste your time on this piece of junk.

Amazon tells you that this product is often purchased with a set of colored lenses. DON'T BUY THE LENSES!!! It already comes with some.

If you miss big hair, bell bottoms and polyester suits, then at least this mirror ball will help you get a little bit closer to reliving such nostalgia. I set this thing up in my bedroom and aimed the pin spot at it and let it run all night, every night. I then crank up the Abba and Heatwave. I sleep better.

This item arrived as listed, but the wires in the light were not hooked up properly when the item arrived. I had an electrician open the spot light case and properly connected the wires and the item worked great. This was my only problem with the item. Otherwise a great ball for the price.

The disco ball was a huge disappointment. The picture that is used is not at all like to item I received. The base is not a plug it is battery operated and it is a tabletop stand with the option of a hanging ball. The ball is not secure on the base, it is very wobbly, even my 6 year old was afraid it was going to break. We bought this for our playroom to secure to the ceiling but there was no easy way to turn it on without a ladder each time, not to mention I was afraid it would fall on our heads. I was not at all happy and did return the item. I am a frequent Amazon shopper and this is the first time I have ever had to return something.
