This review is from: American Indian Cooking Before 1500 (Exploring History Through Simple Recipes) (Library Binding)
I was originally excited about this book and had plans to buy the whole series, but as I looked through the book I realized that the recipes were historically inaccurate and pretty much useless. While I was prepared to overlook a half cup powdered sugar as part of snow cream and raspberries that the Inuit supposedly served (for dessert?), I can't overlook a recipe with cumin in it unless the authors really believe that there was trade with the middle east before the 1500's. This is not the kind of scholarship I wish to teach my child and I feel ripped off. I am giving it 2 stars instead of one in case somebody doesn't care about the historical accuracy and wants to buy this off me.
