great simple idea with one design flaw. The sliding knuckle is too thick to fit behind the door handle. If pulled directly from the front it will come away. It took my daughter less than 2 days to figure this out. If the clasp were thinner and fitted behind the door handle (even a little) these would recieve 5 stars for value, design and safety. Because of the flaw they get 3.

they do not fit most cabinet knobs unless they are deep enough. my son pulled them off immediately. waste of money.

The clasp part is too thick and ribbed therefore it scrapes up the wood on the cabinets when you tighten it down. The plastic is flimsy too. I was not very impressed with this one.

As per most other reviews here, these do not work at all. I don't know which is the fastest....opening the doors WITH the fastener on, or just yanking the fastener off! My son had some of similar design that worked perfectly, and we have the same cabinet knobs, so went ahead and ordered this safety "lock". American Red Cross should be ashamed to have their name associated with this product, as I went ahead and purchased based on their reputation. I can't imagine an application where it would work...maybe laced through cabinet handles??? You can NOT merely slide the lock UP TO the knobs as the picture shows. You must be able to slide the latch behind the knobs for this latch to be effective. The clearance from your cabinet to the BACK of your knob must exceed 13/16" for this bracket to slide behind the knobs and secure the opening. In a bathroom, I have a set of knobs with very long shafts, and this lock does not work there either. I would imagine for the average cabinet hardware, these will not work. I believe those that my son has are 'Safety First' brand. He got them at Babys r Us.

I have tried many a cabinet lock, and this one is the worst. It is very easily broken into by my kids - it does not tighten hard enough to keep them out, and is relatively useless.

Works great on most of our cabinets except our bathroom one because the knobs are too close together. Really like the ease of these on our frequently used cabinets. Much easier than another style we'd tried before. So far our daughter hasn't figured them out. Would be five stars from us if it fit the bathroom cabinet...

I was a little surprised by some of the other reviews, but I guess it depends on what type of cabinets you have. They have worked just fine for us. Very easy to use and install, there is no drilling involved, unlike with some other types of cabinet safety locks.

Most kids can simply pull these of because they don't fit behind the knob enough.

We bought the Cabinet Safety Slide lock to keep our 14 month old out of cleaning supplies cabinet. The slide is too big to fit behind the knob which allows it to slip over the knob with slightest pull. Our toddler was able to open the cabinet easily with this lock installed. Unable to return it as it's now an opened item, I'd have to throw them away and get a different cabinet lock.

My toddler has become adept at opening various cabinet safety locks or figuring out ways to circumvent them; but not this one!
