About the Author

Gina has directed dance teams in Irving, Plano, and Rockwall, Texas as well as head instructing dance camps across the nation for NCA. She was voted as a "Top Ten" director for 1999-2000 for Dance/Drill Team Directors of America. When not performing or choreographing, Gina enjoys writing about dance and has published works in Dance Teacher Now, Dance Spirit, and Insights magazines. Gina is also the author of The Performance Dictionary: "A Power House of Terminology for Dancers and the Entertainment Industry" which will be released in January of 2004.

Gina served as a Dance Captain for the Tyler Jr. College Apache Belles, and performed with Denton Civic Ballet, under the direction of Susan Marquis Friday. She completed her undergraduate work from Texas Woman’s University majoring in dance and English with teaching certification, and earned her masters of liberal arts degree from Southern Methodist University.

Gina performs and choreographs for dance teams, musical theater, and film. She has directed numerous dance revues and plays, and is the owner of Backstage Coach Productions, BackstageCoach.com. Gina services the performance industry with choreography and performance coaching, along with books and videos.
