To Be 16 again...,
By
This review is from: American Demo (Audio CD)
Oh to be 16 again. Listening to new music that changes you, trying to figure out what scene you belong to, full of dreams to maybe one day make that record that will become a collection of anthems for your generation and change the course of music history.
Well, maybe this is that record. Not a record that actually does all those things, but one that does catch the mood and hopes of teenagers. But then looking back on it, almost on the brink of admitting that it was all great, but that people grow older and life goes on. They try to reach this by making songs that are full of glam and Smiths/Suede like pathos. If you don't take it too seriously it all becomes marvelous. With some Bowie and Queen also comes a link to America, the country of Jeff Buckley. One of the best songs on the album is about him. America, as for many people, is a country to be both loved and hated; which is what the Indelicates seem to do as well. A great album that will definitely gain fans in their teens, just starting to listen to pop-music. And maybe it will get some Pippettes fans as well, since one of the singers was in that band before as well. Great record.

One of life's great discoveries!,

It's becoming a rarer and rarer event that you can honestly say that you hear something that really makes an impression, but this album is stunning. I'd never heard of the band but after hearing a couple of tracks which were really good, got the album. It's different, creative and intelligent but without being pretentious and is just a really good listen, start to finish.
All the tracks are of a consistently high standard - well sung, well played, well produced. All in all, one of those increasingly rare finds, a truly excellent album. I can't recommend it highly enough - take a listen for yourself, and I hope that you'll agree with me.

Achingly beautiful music, clever and witty lyrics, what more could you possibly want from music?
This is the first album I've bought since U2 Zoo Station came out where I liked every single song on the list.
