3.0 out of 5 stars Not impressive..., March 22, 2006
This review is from: American Dietetic Association Cooking Healthy Across America (Paperback)
I bought this in the hopes that I could make some yummy meals for my family that weren't loaded down with sugar or fats. I can't say this cookbook provides the best recipes for those needs. It was well organized and planned out but several of the recipes shouldn't be falling under the healthy category. Refined sugar (white) should never have a place in a health-based cookbook. That's just one of the examples. It was okay, but I'd see if your local library has if first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information with great food, February 5, 2011
I received this book while I was in culinary school as a textbook for Regional/healthy cooking. The variety of the recipes and the information in the back is amazing. I recommend this book to all my friends and family. The food is not bland, the desserts are fantastic. You get all the nutritional information with each recipe. And you get all your favorite recipes from every region of america. I can't recommend this book enough!!!!! As a Chef I still use recipes from this book at my work.
