5.0 out of 5 stars This album DESTROYS!!!
This is the best metal album of 2008. I got into walls of Jericho about 2 yrs. ago when I saw them live. They are one of the top 3 live bands I have ever seen giving their absolute all in every song, every performance. The American Dream as an album is flawless. With thrashy riffs and a deeper darker vocal set from Candice then previous albums. All 12 songs are...

2.0 out of 5 stars Eh....
This album isn't thrilling at all. It probably has two or three moments tops. The band is made up of amazing musicians that, sadly, can't seem to find direction. They can't just can't let go of the boring generic "break downs". I think they're past that, but I'm not in the band so whatever. Still one of the only "metalcore" bands worth listening to though.

If you want to put on an album from start to finish that makes you want to kill somebody... then this is for you!!!
WOJ Rocks.

By the way -- in the synopsis it is stated that Walls of Jericho is a Christian Band - - maybe the reviewer should try listening to the music instead of just making the judgement that they are Christian because of the title of the band. They are NOT a Christian Band!!
PEACE

5.0 out of 5 stars Very solid, November 21, 2010
This review is from: American Dream (Audio CD)
If Devils Amongst Us All is five stars, I'm not sure The America Dream is strictly five stars, but I can't live without it so five stars it is. I definitely prefer things on the hardcore side, and this album a bit more metal, a bit slower. Nevertheless, WoJ continues to capture some of the best things about both genres and make them work so they keep feeling punishing rather than repetitive.

I have to say, though, the editorial review stating that they're a Christian band may be the biggest load I've read in a while. I don't know if they're personally Christian, but I do know that they resolutely refuse to define themselves as Christian or not-Christian because they're about hardcore unity. Short of being Bad Religion or whoever, I don't see how they could be *less* "Christian band" than that. Example:

4.0 out of 5 stars not as good as previous works but still good, August 4, 2008
This review is from: American Dream (Audio CD)
im a huge walls fan (except for the redemption ep), but for me their best work was when they were a hardcore band, not a metalcore band. i love all hail the dead, it has such intensity and when the band released with devil's amongst us all i struggled to get into it just because they had become a metalcore band (sad i know). however, eventually i came to realise it too was an excellent album, metalcore standards. then came the american dream and im actually a bit dissapointed. dont get me wrong its still a pretty damn good album, but compared to their previous albums it lacks speed, technicality and intensity. the songs seem slower and just seem to chug along mid paced (but i guess thats metalcore these days). i remember hearing a trigger full of promisses off the last album and being instantly blown away, on this album there weren't any songs that really surprised and impressed me. i give this album 3.5 stars but 4 for the review just because i love the band

oh and btw, the new war of ages album is BRILLIANT, go check it out, definately a staple album for modern metalcore

ok, this isn'T THAT ALBUM BUT i FELT LIKE SAYING THAT! Now this album is cool, not bad at all. Def. bringing in some more thrash elements as most hardcore bands are doing now-a-dayz but you know what it something a little different and i pretty damn good. this is just a straight up good album, pick it up and support this band. big come back from thier ep, i don't know why they even released that. they could have just put those songs on a full length, REALLY THERE WAS ONLY THREE NEW SONGS.
