The American Educational 3012 globe kit is used for study of earth sciences, and is a working model for enabling scientific problem-solving in areas such as Earth measurement, astronomy, and seismology. The set has a teacher’s guide for instructional use, and 15 kits with the following pieces for hands-on learning: plastic Earth globe (8.0” diameter), overlay transparent hemispheres, internal disk (cores and mantle), flexible kilometer scale, rods with suction cups (10.0cm), and external protractor (8.0” diameter). The set was developed as part of the Earth Science Curriculum Project, which is sponsored by the American Geological Institute and supported by the National Science Foundation, for accurate representation. The set is suitable for grades 6 to 12 and ages 11 to 18.
