More About the Author

Dr. John Holleman is Assistant Professor of Leadership and Counselor Education at The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Holleman previously served the Ole Miss School of Business as Director of Corporate Relations from 2007 to 2008 and Director of MBA Program Administration from 1998 to 2008. A licensed professional counselor, Holleman served as a professional counselor for over 10 years in a combination of private practice and community agency settings. John has an undergraduate degree from Stephen F. Austin State University, an educational specialist degree from University of Memphis, a master's and doctorate from Texas A&M University at Commerce. John also completed an M.A. degree in teaching English to speakers of other languages in 2003. Holleman is the author of two books, "American English Idiom Diary: A Week-by-Week Calendar and Wordbook of 3300 English Expression" (The Chinese University Press, 2006) and "Understanding American Idioms Using Word Puzzles" (The Commercial Press, 2009).

This book is the most helpful and valuable book that I have ever read as a second language speaker of English. The daily idiomatic expressions in American English were always nightmare for me before I had started to read and study this book.

The idioms are uniquely classified into different categories with its week-by-week methodology. The usage of everyday English explanations and illustrations makes idioms easy to understand. Every second language speaker of English should have this book in order to communicate effectively in English.

I am reading the book and enjoying it. Even though I have heard of many of the expressions and understand them when hearing, however this book helps you tremendously to be able to use these expressions in your own sentenses. It gives nice and easy applications.
