5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Something Good
I'm upset that someone out there thinks that Silvertide is "Weak production, weak songwriting, weak weak weak." I saw these guys live with shinedown and tantric. They were the opening band, and by the time tantric (the headliner) came on, everyone cleared out of the bar because they had got their fix with silvertide that they didn't even care about tantric...

They were the opening band, and by the time tantric (the headliner) came on, everyone cleared out of the bar because they had got their fix with silvertide that they didn't even care about tantric. The guitar player is God-like. He was on his knees with the guitar behind his head playing the craziest riffs I have ever heard live. So untill you experience them in person and know what you are talking about, go back to listening to your Michael Bolton and Yanni and stop bashing the next best thing in music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silvertide WOW, August 13, 2003

All I can say is that if you are tired of listening to all this...music they have out on the radio it is time for you to buy the Silvertide EP. Rock n Roll is being brought to life by this incredible band. Even at all acoustic shows they have plenty of energy while the guitarist Nick plays. If there were one band to check out this would be the one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Silvertide brings it all back, May 4, 2003

This is a great preview to the upcoming album. Silvertide rocks out old-school, with an upbeat sound and smooth, flowing lyrics.

01. Mary Jane
02. Beware
03. To See Where I Hide

"Mary Jane" is probably the best track on this EP, Silvertide rocks out with amazing vocals. Every track has a similar sound to it, but when you hear each one, there are still definite distinctions. "Beware" is intense, and it makes you want to locate your nearest mosh pit and go crazy. "To See Where I Hide" tones it down just a little bit, but barely. The whole CD is great--definitely wait for the album release to get the full experience. These guys may never get famous, but they'll be going places nonetheless.

5.0 out of 5 stars Complete your 'Tide Collection!, September 30, 2005
This review is from: American Excess (Audio CD)
This is a great EP from Silvertide. It includes my favorite song from the Show & Tell album, "Mary Jayne," as well as another strong song "To See Where I Hide." But the real reason to buy this one is to get the second track "Beware," which wasn't included on the album. This is another great song, but they had to cut something from the album, and this song was it. This is a MUST for any hardcore fan, but the EP is also a nice starting point if you haven't heard Silvertide and want to give the band a chance without paying the full album price. Either way, you won't be disappointed!

This e.p. has certainly made me hungry for the full lenghth CD.The music is in the vein of G 'N R and (going back further) Aerosmith. This is the type of meaty kick ass rock n roll that i do not hear enough of anymore.Great guitar, great vocals and (in my opinion anyway)great production.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't wait for the full album., January 15, 2004

Silvertide is the best rock band to come out of Philly in a long time. They opened for Aerosmith in Camden a couple years ago. I was there for Aerosmith but I missed the openers. I met Nick, the lead guitarist, about a week later. He had so much passion for the music he wanted to make, I was very impressed. Ever since then I have been keeping my ear to the ground and watching their website, once it got running, looking for updates on when material would be released. Finally this EP came out and I ordered it immediately. I absolutely love it! The lyrics, the rhythms, the vocals, and my God the guitars. Finally someone remembered how to make a rock and roll guitar solo. The full album will be out shortly I hear, but until then this nice EP should suffice my cravings. Pick this up and you will see what I mean. If you like Zeppelin, Black Crowes, Aerosmith, and Guns N'Roses I promise you will love these guys.

silvertide is an amazing new band.its hard to believe the average age of all five guys is like 20.they are like a heavier black crowes and the songs are downright fun and enjoyable, yet still rock and jam out.nick's lead guitar work is incredible to say the least.it sux that they left "beware" off of "show and tell".this is a great little ep if you want to test them out before you buy "show and tell", which i know you will the second you hear them.

I would just like to say that these guys totally kick ass and M. Hinkle is a dumbass. No one listen to him. Silvertide's american excess is way better then anything Van Halen has released forever and the three songs on this cd are way better then Van Halen's Three new songs. Also, Nick Perri is a god on the guitar and not a copy cat of Van Halen. Van Halen did rock, when they had David Lee Roth. They are going to be the saviors of rock and roll and their full length album show and tell is awesome to. Go out and buy it right now if you do not have it.
