nice design, but...,

I bought three of these for my new kitchen last spring. The light is very nice, but one of them has burned through 4 ballasts and two bulbs since then as is now not functioning. When the first ballast blew, the manufacturer sent me two new ones. One of these didn't work at all. The second one burned out in about one month. Since two of the lamps were OK, I purchased an additional ballast from a local dealer ( about $50.00). The dealers are few and far between and don't stock the parts. I had to wait a week to get it, and the new ballast burned out today after only a few months. I replaced the 2c bulb last time I replaced the ballast and noticed that the other two lamps were already dimmer than the new one after less than six months of use. The bulbs are obtainable only from dealers who aren't interested in keeping them in stock.
Not worth the trouble or expense. Sadly, I will probably replace them with something from Home Depot.
