Great Concept--Not-so-great Execution, November 16, 2010
After looking for a new set of luggage for about a year, I finally settled on American Flyer's Euro style. Not only did I like the look of it, but I definitely wanted spinners again. What sold me was the 45-degree handle feature. This seemed like the perfect solution to the challenge of rolling the bag on carpeted surfaces. Unfortunately, the mechanism (two little pins) that retract to get you from upright to angled are not sufficient for the job required of them. Perhaps if they were longer, sturdier, something... The weight of the loaded bag seemed too much for the wee pins. They would not stay in their intended holes resulting in the handle not staying in the upright position. It was fine when you wanted the handle to be angled, but not-so-much when you didn't. Hopefully, they will come up with a better way to execute what really is a great idea!
