CONTAGIOUS,
This review is from: American Food (Paperback)
I purchased this book, and let a friend read it. He had to have his own. His sister read it, and she also bought one. This is one book that you can't put down, and even when you have finished it, you will still continue to go back to your favorite info. The food information dates back to the beginning of America and all the different people who came here and influenced our everyday meals. You will learn words and phrase orgins that came from simply "food". There are amusing stories of well-known people and the food they loved. Many of the old recipes in this book have not been changed. Warning! This book can induce smiles, awe, and last, but not least, great pangs of hunger!

This book is a history of America through the prism of food. Highly enjoyable with recipes in the text and the margin. A must for any American chef, hobby-cook, or historians who want a different perspective on history.
