5.0 out of 5 stars great, February 9, 2004

Dashboard Confessional? What the hell? This is seriously nothing like DBC. Key differences being: intelligent lyrics, interesting musical ideas, talent. That said, this is an excellent record, by an excellent band. Just beautiful.

for any fans of anything that is considered good music, this is the CD for you. Not only does it have interesting lyrics, but my grandmother even enjoyed listening to it.

Recommended only as a nice appetizer to their wonderful lp, fans of later band Owen's work will also enjoy the introspective hue of this ep in particular.

nice playing by some kids from the middle of nowhere. the midwest has shown again that it puts out some of the best indie pop and math rock with this release from steve lamos's american football. the band also has the playing and singing of tim kinsella from joan of arc. a must buy.. if they ever repress it

Props to Steve, Steve, And Mike! A welcome departure from Joan of Arc and Cap'N Jazz. I guess the only way to solve the (small) debate over whose band this was is by revealing that Mike broke them up. So by result, I would say it was his project. Anyway, the music is subtle, even sublime at times, with a clever turn in the drumming (Steve Lamos). It's a shame-- there was potential there, even possible success within reach since music like Dashboard Confessional seems to sell well (not saying they are the same, but if Dashboard could sell, this certainly had a chance). This is not too far away from that in feeling. Good luck fellas!
