I have adored the American Girls products for years, and only last year discovered the many marvelous puzzle games that they put out for readers. Recently, I found myself browsing through the bookstore, and stumbled across THE AMERICAN GIRLS PENCIL PLAY, and immediately knew that I had to have it. Being an avid reader, as well as a fan of crosswords and word searches, I knew that this book would be a gem to add to my collection. I wasn't wrong. THE AMERICAN GIRLS PENCIL PLAY is a collection of 40 fun puzzles that will keep young readers occupied for hours. Puzzles include the normal crosswords and word searches, as well as mazes, unscrambling secret messages, and cracking codes. While it isn't a requirement to have read the books in the AMERICAN GIRLS book series, having done so will help you to solve each puzzle in record time. Overall, this is a wonderful puzzle book geared towards girls ages 8 and up, who love the characters and settings found in the AMERICAN GIRLS COLLECTION.

I have never seen this product in the stores around here. I gave it to my granddaughter for her birthday and she was so thrilled. We have watched all of the American Girl movies together, so this was a perfect gift!

I order a "used" in like new condition copy of this. I was very, very disappointed to find it had been written in all throughout the book. This is not what I would call like new condition. Needless to say it is useless to me. I would send it back, but it costs as much to ship it as to buy it.
