5.0 out of 5 stars I have been waiting for this album, November 9, 2005

This review is from: American By God's Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
I served in Iraq with him. On friday evenings soldiers would get together at the chow hall and play music, I don't recall if he played there, but I sure he did, I was working 12-16 hour days myself so I didn't catch every show. However before we left Luke and his pals, Jr Shultz and Nick Brown had made a demo and shared with us. American by God's amazing grace, is probably the only one that would get air, folks being politically correct. We Hate Terrorist ; Mortaritaville ; Blame it on the ING are some songs that Luke, Nick, and Jr. I wish he would've included I'm a Patriot on this album, but Luke didn't sing it I believe JR did.

5.0 out of 5 stars God Bless America and this CD!, October 12, 2005
This review is from: American By God's Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
This is a must-buy item for anyone who loves mom, apple-pie and our country. The title cut is a powerful song that expresses a too-seldom heard sentiment, about how good we have it in America.
Additionally with a deep voice reminiscent of Hank Williams Jr, Young Stricklin has superstar potential. He sings like a seasoned veteran of country music. Though I'm not a big fan of country music, this is one of my newest favorite albums. I recommend it for Christmas-gift giving, or for any loved one whose served in the armed-forces. I'm giving it to half the people on my gift list this year!
Luke Stricklin is a great vocal talent worthy of stardom. By God's Amazing grace that will come to pass if the Political Correct Police don't squelch his refreshing voice.
I recommend this album for patriots, good-old-boys, overindulged youngsters, veterans, and anyone who loves country music.

This review is from: American By God's Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
From start to finish this is just an awesome cd. Worth every penny. From a hard look behind the scenes of the war in Iraq to the every day stuff we all can relate to Luke puts it all to music and word.
HIGHLY recommended for the country fan as well as anyone who just likes good music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply amazing, December 27, 2005
This review is from: American By God's Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
I bought this CD at Walmart because I liked the title "American By God's Amazing Grace." I sure am glad I did. The title track provides a little glimpse into what our service men and women are doing for us on the other side of the world in Iraq. After listening to this CD, I can appreciate all the more what these folks are doing for us over there. While the title track(s) is(are) probably my favorite, there is not a single song on this CD that I don't like.

Luke Stricklin has a voice and style similar to Toby Keith, who happens to be one of my favorite performers, so it should come as no surprise I like this CD, too. He is an artist that I am sure will become quite popular once people start to hear about him.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm impressed, January 31, 2006
This review is from: American By God's Amazing Grace (Audio CD)
I had the opportunity to meet Luke this week while he was at Fort Polk, La. I knew his song "American, by Gods Amazing grace"
so I decided to preview the rest of his album. I am impressed!
both with the guy (great personality! and cute as a button)
and his singing! I think he'll go as far as he wants to go in his music career!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff!, March 7, 2006

This CD is simply incredible. The title track, American by God's Amazing Grace, is my all-time favorite song. Unlike other patriotic singers, this guy has actually been to Iraq, and knows what it's like. It's great to finally get the perspective of a real soldier.

He's got a solid country voice, and the CD has a great sound overall. I bought it mostly for the title track, but the other songs are good too. They're mostly about typical country themes, with consistently good quality. Overall, a great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great lyrics, April 10, 2007

I definitely suggest this CD. I think the song American By God's Amazing Grace has some really powerful lyrics. My favorite being:

"It breaks my heart to see these kids out on the streets
walking barefoot through the trash, diggin' for something to eat.
I give them what I got, just to let them know I care
and I thank God it's not my son that's standing there."

It's a really good CD.
