I have used Creatacard from the beginning when it first came out. As the versions have come along, they have made many improvements. It takes a little bit to get to know the in's & outs of the program but it's well worth the time. I have not purchased a store-bought card in I don't know how long. I especially like being able to start with one of their cards & make it my own (especially when I can change just about anything I want to (like the verse, artwork, or the size of the card). I spend many hours playing with the program. I have been able to make some very beautiful cards. I would recommend the program to anyone who is willing to sit down with it and learn it. You can create some really beautiful cards.

The best just got better! Having used Creatacard Gold 3 for the past 3 years, I decided to upgrade to Gold 6, but changed my mind when I found Platinum edition, realising it would be a bumper package. On first use, I was frustrated to say the least. The desktop has completely changed but, when you really examine the functions, it does much, much more than the 3rd edition I used previously. I played for a bit, realised it did what the Gold 3 did plus plus plus! Much more creativity, many more art works plus you don't have to purchase additions which cost me at least £20 just for two sets. The artwork simply astounded me - couldn't work my way through it all!
If you enjoy creating personal cards & projects - BUY IT!

I have used American Greeting CreatCard Gold 3 for several years and was very pleased with the product. The newer version, Platinum 6 is very disappointing. The art work is very cartoonish and more on a childlike level. The application also is difficult to use and very different from version 3. Also, the Address Book did not transfer to Platinum 6 from Gold 3 as the instructions claimed. I will be returning this for a refund and continue to look for a a supplemental greeting card software to use with Gold 3 which is lacking in Get Well, Sympathy,and other adult level greeting cards.

I have had this program since fall of 2001 and love it as far as the clipart, etc. goes! When we installed Windows XP, we found that it is not completely compatible. For instance, the envelopes will not print correctly, and the print wizard for the cards, won't set up properly. I have to print all envelopes from Word. I have never been able to send an electronic greeting, maybe because I have a broadband server, I don't know. Also, it is impossible to import a picture from it into an email. Twice I have had the program 'crash' and had to reinstall it.

Compared to version 3, it's a giant leap backwards. It's much harder to locate cards and you don't have choices of greetings. It's impossible to customize envelope size. The old calendar is missing. It doesn't import all your birthday reminders from version 3 either. Some cards are "buggy" and take a long time to paint on the screen.

It also has to run as an admin under XP. Give me a break. You have a card program that you want inexperienced users to run and they have to be admins!

I found this software to be the best I have tried so far. Beautiful features and color as well as easy to understand directions(pop-up instructions with both audio and visual) make creating everything from cards to t-shirts!

Using Platinum 5 for the past 6 months, I was hoping the new Platinum 6 version would provide an easier to use interface, print WYSIWYG, and that the images would be improved.

The interface is still the same and it still has the annoying habit of changing the color of your screen to neon colors while you are using the application. (Alt-Tab to another screen like Word).

The version 6 images IMO are worse than the 5 version. It seems American Greetings is going more after children for this product by using cartoon-ish images and images that look like they were painted in water colors with a big fat brush.

I did not test the WYSIWYG printing due to the disappointment with the images. I will be returning the Platinum 6 version and will stick with the Platinum 5 version.

I've used this software for 10 years and it's the best! Easy to teach yourself, great versatility, terrific graphics and produces fabulous cards!

I tried Hallmark and it was much more complicated and not user friendly.

I highly recommend this program if you love to create and you don't happen to be an artist!

American Greeting Platinum 6.0 is very user friendly. Just install and start creating cards. Your creativity is without limits...

I purchased Creata Card Gold - Ver.4 and am really unhappy with the lack of manuverability. It seems that when you try and view a card and decide you want to look at another one, you have to back out and essentially start all over. The entire process is cumbersome and very poorly documented.

Additionally I believe you should warn prospective customers it is a 2 cd version and it works best for people with two cd roms installed.
