I bought Explorer (ASIN: B000UTLRYE) and this Simple together. Both items look very nice and operate exactly as described. I like the comfort feeling of the headphone coming with Explorer. I gave the Simple one to my son to play with his buddies. I have tried both models, both of them are so simple to learn and easy to use. Unless you want to search gold in NV or CA, these two models do the work really well.

Works as advertised and better than the reviews suggest for a similarly priced product. Do wish the directions were more precise and detailed.

I purchased this item to locate lost nails/screws/bolts while working on outdoor projects. This detector will not find these items and, therefore, was useless to me. It seems to work ok on other items.

This device has been very good. I bought this to locate baseball anchors for our ball league. I brought a commercial grade pin finder to the field to co-locate the anchors. This metal detector was spot on with locating the iron anchors every time.

my son was so disappointed! this metal detector continueously makes a disturbing noise until it is run over metal....i thought they only make noises when metal is found? and it has to be a large piece of metal before it will even detect it?!

It took me about a week to figure out the best way to use this thing. Now that I've got it figured out...it's farily simple.

My advice to all of you ... test yourself. Go to a section of ground that has nothing in it, take several sheets of paper and put something on each. Instead of burying anything just put something over it (couple blocks of wood etc.) so you can figure out the depth easier.

Anyway, it works fine for the money.

A Christmas gift, this was used to scan all the unopened presents to see what might have metal in it. Clothes, of course, don't give a reading, so they were tossed aside until all the "Good" presents were open. Being winter and freezing and snow-covered currently, they haven't had a chance to use it outside, but I know they will get hours and days worth of use from the metal detector.
