The excitement of cooking from the American Heritage Cookbook has never ended for me. The recipes are truly delicious and the historical blurbs give one food for thought. Although the recipes are certainly not according to present day nutritional guidelines the palate will be more than satisfied.
An interesting history of the diet of the Americas. It is great for hands on teaching of the combinations of peoples that settled this area and their contributions to todays diets. From Mush for the week and shoe fly pie as a celebration to todays mixed meals.
