This is truly well spent money. I don't regret buying this dictionary. Now that I go to the doctor or physician I can communicate better using terms learned from THE AMERICAN HERITAGE MEDICAL DICTIONARY, and I can also understand medical terms used by doctors and nurses. I'm no longer living in a cave, I'm stepping into the light with this dictionary. This a must have if you desire to learn more abut the health care field.

I bought this book based on the recommendation of a fellow classmate. While the basic information may be included (i.e. what is a CBC?), it is missing far too many entries to be very helpful. I've opted for Stedman's Medical Dictionary instead.

I am a dietetic intern and purchased this book for when I would run into words I was unfamiliar with or needed a reminder on in patients charts. It definitely helped me think in the right direction, but it was not very detailed. I thought it was missing important information for some terms. It helped, but the definitions are vague. When I would look up some terms that I already thought I kind of knew just from the name, turns out that would be all that was next to the term. There were some examples, but more would have helped.

The book, American Heritage Midical Dic-tion-ary has saved me time. Before having it; I would have problems with the minutes I take within my hospital environment. Words that I needed were not always in a standard dictionary. Being able to supply my fellow team members with the proper and correct wordage enables us all to do our jobs more proficiently.
