4.0 out of 5 stars A true pocket dictionary
Very easy to carry in your pocket. Was great help on my recent trip to the Dominican Rep. Won't replace a large reference dictionary, but if you know your verb tenses, this might be all you need for general use. Uses American English and Lat. Am. Spanish.

This is indeed a true pocket dictionary. It is the right size to fit just about any pocket, unlike some massive volumes that are labeled "pocket dictionary." This is indeed a true pocket dictionary. It is the right size to fit just about any pocket, unlike some massive volumes that are labeled "pocket dictionary." But there are some problems with this volume. The print size is so small that it is hard to read. The paper is low quality, and on some pages (in some samples that I checked) the print is blurred so it is hard to read (e.g. the spaces in the a, e o, p, q etc. are filled in as solid dots, or worse). On some pages, in some samples, the lines are printed at an angle and too far to one side, so that some of the letters of words near the column margins are cut off completely. The paper and binding are so flimsy that it looks like the book would fall apart with repeated frequent use. I bought this dictionary at a local bookstore, and I was so annoyed with it that I returned it for a refund the next day. I replaced it with Webster's New World Pocket Spanish Dictionary, and I am completely satisfied with the Webster's volume. It is the same convenient small size as the American Heritage dictionary, and it is well made and has all of the features that I want in a pocket dictionary.

Nice hand size. But the print is too small, especially for an older person to read without eye strain.
