this book just gives you a complete overview of all the lives that have inspired us to keep on doing and being our best. the children as well as adults will fall in love with the illustrations and the details in this book. every family should have one in their homes so that all children can share from the knowledge and experiences that these fine black leaders have given to us all.

A CALENDAR OF LASTING VALUE!,

The illustrations within this calendar are a collection of Black Americans who have been shown on U.S. Postage Stamps. The 12 distinguished portraits in this collection were painted by one of the greatest illustrators of our time, Thomas Blackshear II. TBII as he signs his name, has truely captured the spirit of courage and compassion, elegance and nobility, perseverance and strength of each of the individuals portrayed. Alex Haley wrote; I am moved to add praise for the premium quality of the artistry on display here. It not only impresses me as aesthetic, it also seems to capture the very spirit, the feel of the singular personality of each and every one of these all time African-American heroes and heroines. Also recommended is the book that was put out by the U.S. Post office "I HAVE A DREAM" A collection of Black Americans on U.S. Postage Stamps, by Illustrator Thomas Blackshear II.

If we ever do 2001 over again this would be a pretty good calendar. Otherwise look for a calendar that covers the same year you are actually living in. |
