5.0 out of 5 stars You gotta get it!
I first heard "flavor of the weak" on the radio, and right then I knew I had to have the cd. After I bought it and listened to it I found I loved all of the songs!!! This is an awesome cd and if you don't own it, you definitely have to get it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Pop rock at its worst
American Hi-Fi, Bob Rock's new project since Metallica, has a pop/rock sound, that, if you like pop/rock, is enjoyable, but if you get sick to your stomache listening to the pop/rock genre, steer clear of American Hi-Fi. Their first single, "Flavor of the Weak" chants "her boyfriend, he don't know anything about her, he's too stoned, nintendo, I wish that...

I know all of you people probably think Flavor of the Week is the only good song on the CD, but you wrong! This CD has tons of good songs!!!! "Another Perfect Day" is the best song out there, behind "Flavor of the Week"! It's an awesome song!!! "Vertigo" is a really good song, and they have more good songs! I could listen to this CD 10 times through, and still be loving every song! This CD ROCKS!

And by the way American Hi-Fi is not pop!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars INSTANTLY MEMORABLE POWER POP TUNES!!!, August 19, 2001
This review is from: American Hi-Fi (Audio CD)
If you love power pop, then this CD will live in your CD-player for the next several months. The music is tight and original, the singer has excellent range and a great voice, the guitars are strong, the drumming powerful, the lyrics are kool, its just a brilliant CD. It just keeps getting better and better with each listen, and everyone who has heard this in my car has gone out and bought it as well. This is nothing like those ... punk/pop bands that play "songs" at breakneck speed and make you embarrassed to listen to them unless you are under 15 years old. By the way, check out their great tune "VERTIGO" (not on this CD, but on American Pie 2 Soundtrack.

American Hi-Fi's first and currently only CD, I think, is a pretty good one. There's a lot of good rock, and some songs are semi-punk. It gets tiring after a while, but 'Flavor of the Weak' is one you'll wanna listen to a lot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pop rock at its worst, May 14, 2001

American Hi-Fi, Bob Rock's new project since Metallica, has a pop/rock sound, that, if you like pop/rock, is enjoyable, but if you get sick to your stomache listening to the pop/rock genre, steer clear of American Hi-Fi. Their first single, "Flavor of the Weak" chants "her boyfriend, he don't know anything about her, he's too stoned, nintendo, I wish that I could make her see, she's just the flavor of the weak." This song is a catchy tune about a relationship failed. The rest of the album, however, fails to venture into anything different. The band knows how to rock, but this band's shelf life will be short lived, due to the fact that nothing really seperates this band from other pop/rock groups, such as A New Found Glory, Creed, or the one hit wonder Nada Surf. Be prepared to watch these boys' popularity to hit a brick wall when "A flavor of the Weak" loses its freshness, and popularity along with it. What American Hi-Fi will essentially be lacking is a second hit to keep interest in the band alive. If they are able to hold a second hit, however, it will come from the song "My Only Enemy", the only other interestingly different song on the album.

1.0 out of 5 stars not good at all, June 26, 2001
By
This review is from: American Hi-Fi (Audio CD)
i'm a blink182, sum41 and good charlotte fan, and i heard that this group was good and i knew flavor of the week which is probably the only good song in the album. DON'T buy this album if you like nice melodies because this album is basic and not original at all. ADVICE: listen to me and not the others that say that this album is cool.
