Revisit Another Dada Classic,
By
This review is from: American Highway Flower (Audio CD)
For those of us old enough to remember this second release from Dada in 1994; it would be hard to think that this new remixed disc could actually be made any better than the origional, but it is! With the hindsight of ten years to think it over, Dada's newly remixed CD includes classic fan favorites like "Ask The Dust", "Scum", "Pretty Girls Make Graves", "Green Henry", "Gogo" and "Feel Me Don't You". The three bonus tracks are fun to listen to, along with the newly re-recorded thirteen songs from 94. The best song "8 Track" is worth the price of this CD alone!

Solid follow-up to 'Puzzle',
By
This review is from: American Highway Flower (Audio CD)
For the record, I give this 4-1/2 stars. Another fantastic DADA album, although the songwriting is not quite as consistent or strong as on 'Puzzle', but I'll admit i'm picking nits here! All the band's strengths exhibited on their debut, are here in spades. In short, another sing-along smash! You vill enchoy it!!!(p.s. it's 'Pretty Girls Make Graves', not 'Grass'.)

A good album -- but not as good as Puzzle,
By
This review is from: American Highway Flower (Audio CD)
This is good album. Dada are a tight outfit that produce melodic, intelligent, original music. This album does not reach the sublime heights of their previous album, Puzzle , nor are the songs as memorable -- however it is still a very good album...better than most groups could dream of producing.

My favorite modern rock album,
By Jim Owen (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews

Dada is (was?) a truly wonderful band, so sadly overlooked. Appalled there are only 3 reviews for this fine album. Dada excels at delicious two-part harmony parts over crisp guitars, a tight ensemble sound and a rarity: sing-a-long-able rock and roll songs. This is my faovirte Dada album. It's their most consistent.

No Sophomore Slump for Dada,
By

"American Highway Flower" is an absolutely GREAT album, which makes Dada 2 for 2 up to this point. I suppose I'd give a very slight nod to the first album, "Puzzle", but album 2 shows that the first was no fluke. You'd better be fond of harmonies, because you just can't get away from them with Dada. The musicianship is crisp, clean and consistently inventive. Bands this good (*) never seem to make it commercially, so I doubt if I'll be enjoying a vast collection of Dada albums when I'm old and gray, but I will definitely still be listening to however many this fine band does put out. (*Wait, let me correct that: since there are hardly any other bands this good, lets just say "bands ALMOST as good as this".)

Great Band,

Dada is one of my favorite bands. While this isn't my favorite dada album it still includes great songs. Sometimes a particular song just stays with you and represents something, reminds you of a dynamic or mellow time in your life or it just sounds great. For me, Heaven and Nowhere is one of those songs. Another great dada song is I'm Feeling Nothing. Those two songs alone make the album a great buy. If you see dada live, they often play Ask the Dust and Feel Me Don't You. Pretty Girls Make Graves and Feet to the Sun were the Allmusic.com picks for the album. They really do cover a wide range of styles within the alternative/indie rock genre on this album. Their main consistent characteristic is great harmonies with very big sound for only 3 musicians.

This is my favorite dada Album(Well they all are)...but this one has a really cool 100% rock sound in all of the songs...the music stile mostly dosn't change...and the liricks extreamly rule...especially the last one Heaven...just makes you think of the person you really love...so it is completelly stupid to give less then 5 stars to this Album...Dada is the best ROCK BAND OF THE 1990S AND NOW!

Not their best, by any means,

but "S.F. Bar `63" is a terrific rock song. Perhaps my favorite dada song. How many times have I found myself singing "Please can I kiss your kneecaps"?
