I teach 5th graders S.S. They love learning history in comic book format especially my reluctant readers. There are 5 short comphrension questions at the end of the stories. This is one book I use often.

This American history comic is a good introduction to history for my home-schooled 7 year old grandson. He certainly will read it - he really likes these illustrated books. He was very enthusiastic when he said thank you.

This book is VERY informative and complete. But, the description as "comic Books" is not exactly right. I would have bought it anyway but it is an exaggerated description. . . It is more halfway like a comic book item. Just trying to help.

Great enrichment for my grade 5 social studies classes. The kids love assignments,
being creative , and generating their own comics.

I bought this book and others, as my 15 yr old granddaughter, diagnosed with Aspergers' syndrome, has been failing in school as she finds the 'reading material' boring and refuses to do the work. I introduced this book to her last week and she loves it! We have only started with the first story, but she really likes the characters and thinks they are fun!

I really like this book. I have a second grade boy, who at times has been hard to persuade to read. When we got this book, he only wanted to read the graphic novel format. This worked wonderfully. He still pulls tidbits out of thin air and when I ask where he learned that fact, he says, "from that history comic book you got me." Hey, if a comic book helps him learn history, I'm all for it. It's short, it's only a small portion of history, but it's a good introduction, especially if you have a child that is interested in comics.
