About the Author

Polly Parke was exposed to various cultures, foods and traditions, being born in Pennsylvania, moving to Virginia, and then to New York, as a child, followed by boarding school in Connecticut. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in history and minors in fine arts, comparative religions, and French from New York Univeristy's Washington Square College of Arts and Science. Miss Parke studied voice and opera in New York City for nine years and went on to a career in advertising and public and investor relations. She is now retired, has three children and grandchildren, and lives in both Connecticut and North Carolina (when she isn't traveling) with her husband, Thomas Kelly. Her dislike of bigotry motivated the creation of her AMERICAN HOLIDAY COOKBOOK.
