Customer Reviews

This has the singers from "American Idol," but it doesn't have their best songs.
Amanda L. Davis
Second I would have gotten more excited about it if it would have had all new recordings on it than songs I already have.
Keith
Honestly there should've been more to be showcased here, and yet it wasn't displayed here.

If you've bought the albums of the winners and successes, you don't need this album. If you're a fan but not a buyer of current releases, then this album is for you because it has the biggest songs you've heard from the winners plus Daughtry.

Having been an avid American Idol watcher since Season 3, I was really looking forward to getting a compilation of its first 10 years on a physical CD.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the song selection. Even though it includes all the winners from Seasons 1-9 (it was produced before the Season 10 winner was announced) - as well as some of the more profitable runners-up - it was not what I would consider their "Greatest Hits" package. What about Fantasia's soulful rendition of "Summertime"? Or Carrie Underwood's "Jesus, Take the Wheel"? Or Clay Aiken's "Bridge Over Troubled Water"? And where are Katharine McPhee, Kellie Pickler or David Archuleta?

This is a good CD to have if you want an introduction to American Idol, but if you want a "Greatest Hits" package, I would pass on this CD and download your favorites instead.

I love Carrie's song but I don't want the whole album. Same for the Adam Lambert song. Great way for a non-Ipod person to get music without splurging for songs they don't want.

This years has marked the 10th Season of American Idol top and bottom. While it has had its share of recent drama with the judges, and the departures of Simon Cowell & Paula Abdul the past few years, it also has had its share of influencing what the current and past decade has enjoyed with music. Yet with all the highs and lows, this seaosn has brought in new hype with additions Jennifer Lopez & Aerosmith's legendary frontman, Steven Tyler. But with a new generation of Idol fans, many people are still wondering what has been the best of the past of American Idol. Well, there have been previous hits collections, a video game, and much more. Now a new compilation has arised celebrating American Idol's best. But is it really worth its best, yes and no.

American Idol: 10th Anniversary - The Hits Volume 1 celebrates with a compilation of American Idol winners, runner-ups and fan favorites that have made their own in stepping in shadows to be greats of their own lights. The collection does includes winners like Kelly Clarkson, Fantasia Burrino, and Kris Allen and favorites like Clay Aiken and Daughtry who've made it on their own as well. The collection of songs though isn't completely impressive, by including favorites like Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone, Fantasia's When I See U, as well as Carrie Underwood's country anthem Before He Cheats. While the casting isn't bad there are a few big overlooks. The big overshadowed snub was Jennifer Hudson whom later on did Dreamgirls, and won the prestigous Oscar. That was definitely a sad overshadow. I mean they could've had the decency and compassion to have indluded her on the album with Spotlight or If Is It Love? But for her to be overshadowed is a huge dissapointment for the American Idol faithful.
