This Book Is Great!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: American Idol Audition Book (Paperback)
I initially bought this book for my 11 year old daughter. She's such a fan of the TV show and as soon as she heard about the book, she wanted it immediately! I bought the book for her birthday and our family hasn't put it down since it arrived! The book has something for everyone. My husband loves the song by Lonestar, I love the Mariah Carey song, my daughter loves the Christina Aguilera songs, and we all love trying to sing "If I Were a Rich Man" from Fiddler on the Roof!! We sat home an entire weekend signing all the songs! This book is a definite must for anyone who is ready to step out of the shower and onto the stage. I can't remember the last time my family had so much fun together!

Good but boring,
A Kid's Review

I am a very big fan of AI, but this was one of the bad items. I mean if you really like the songs just buy a Karoke CD. The only thing I liked that you have the lyrics with the notes (unlike Karoke) and the sheet music so you can play on a piano.

Not what I thought it was,

I thought this book gave the secrets to get you in, but I could have written the pointers they gave and some of the suggested songs in the book are not really ideal songs to sing acapella. I wouldn't recommend it.

I love what American Idol has done for singing!,

This review is from: American Idol Audition Book (Paperback)
As a professional singer and Voice Teacher, I am so thrilled to see how American Idol has given the art of singing such a jump start in these last few years.
These American Idol CDs and programs are filled with so much varying talents. From Hard rock to Country, America is becoming interested in identifying true talent. As an Opera Singer myself I can still enjoy the gifts of other genres and am sad to hear when others look down upon the show. Also, as a voice teacher of many styles I can't stress enough the need to my own students for them to develop themselves as a "Complete Unique Package". Finding their own true niche and style including: voice type, genre, best repertoire, to the the right audition outfit. American Idol teaches the same theories. Be true to yourself and your voice to get your best shot at this business of singing. I am an advocat for AI and all shows that encourage the high developement of arts in America. We come from a society that watched sports religiously on telievision (which is great) but there are so many talents to support including singing out there amongst us. American Idol gives artists and viewers a fantastic opportunity. |
