A decade later, Shirley graduated to national publications like Entertainment Weekly, where was a Senior Writer, and Us Weekly, where she was Music Editor. Shirley currently covers "American Idol" full-time for the Los Angeles Times, while also contributing to Rolling Stone and appearing on various countdown shows and True Hollywood Stories. She's also the author of two books, 2008's "Pot Culture: The A-Z Guide to Stoner Language and Life" and the forthcoming "Reefer Movie Madness: The Ultimate Stoner Film Guide" (Abrams Image, October 1).
