I watched the American Idol TV show and then I went out and bought this game. This game actually has MORE stuff in it than the show did!

First, you get to create your own character. There's not too many choices at first, but if you play for a while you can collect a lot of stuff.

Then you get to play singing and dancing games! The dancing games are pretty cool and my favorite is the singing practices where someone sings to you and you have to sing back. You can record a song with your voice and use it in the game too.

After you win a game, you go make a video of your performance. I think this is the best part. All kinds of dance moves, cameras, lighting and special effects. Then, if you want, you can put your video up on the website and people can vote on it, just like in the show!

It takes a long time to get enough stuff to make a really cool video, so don't give up.

I'd recommend this to anyone who liked the American Idol TV show and also to anyone who likes to sing or put together dance performances.

I don't know why everybody is saying that this game is trying to create the next Kelly Clarkson.....I'm trying to create the next Justin Guarini.Anyway this is a great game it's just like the real american idol show you get to create your own style for your created character in the game.Also you get 3 juges who rant or rave at your moves to a choice of 20 hip songs.Also what I think is best of all you get to video tape your performance on to a American Idol website and let the world decide rather you should be the AMERICAN IDOL.I think that you sould get this game because I know I will be the first in line to get mine to add to the rest of my big collection of American Idol merchandise.

This American Idol Game is 10 times better than the one made by Codemaster!!!! I see people talking about how, "Oh, I don't know these songs" or "These songs are old" but if you don't know them the words flash across the screen and if they are old....tough!!!
I'm an 11 year old that should have been born 20 years ago because I love those kind of songs!! I love the way that you can make that person your own! You are NOT trying to make th next American Idol!! It's a game people!! Come on!!! The clothes, hair and all around point of the game is definetly the best game I have ever played and that is truely sincere!!

I don't know why everbody says the object of this game is to create the next Kelly Clarkson...I'm trying to create the next Tamyra Gray. Anyways, this game is REALLY good, because artistic people can relate to it. You get to sing, make your own dance moves, and make your own character and clothes. I know you may be thinking "I've already spent over $100 on American Idol merchandise!!" But trust me, this is worth it!!!

The "American Idol: The Search For A Superstar" game is fantastic! The game is obviously based on the hit reality show American Idol: The Search For A Superstar. This product includes a microphone and over 20 songs for you to sing along to. The point of the game is to push the correct keys when they appear on the screen, ... You will be able to create your own characters (clothes, hairstyle ect.) and up to two players may play at a time. Then at the end the judges will tell you what they think, but unlike the show Simon isn't as harsh with his comments. I think this (approximately) ($$$) game is well worth the money. So I'd suggest you hurry up and go get your own copy of this amazing game fast!

This game is really fun! The only downside is the songs. There are only about 20 songs to choose from, and they could be better songs, but overall this game is good. You get to choose a name for your player, you get to choose if it is a boy or a girl, then you get to choose your hair style and your clothes. At the beginning you don't have many items of clothing, but as the game goes on you get to buy clothes, which earns you more star power and helps you win. In the game, you roll a die and then get to choose where to go depending on the amount of spaces you rolled. Some of the spaces you land on help you gain money or lose money, let you buy stuff to get more star power, and performances where you either sing or dance (you use the microphone your computer comes with, if you don't have one you can buy one). The actual game ends when you or your opponent gets 1000 points in your star power, then both players go to the red carpet and preform one last time, and the one with the most star power wins. You can also make music videos on the game, which is fun. Also, throughout the game you can buy dance moves, lighting, and backgrounds to make your music videos better! This game is fun and addicting, and it's worth buying. The game really has nothing to do with the actual show, but it's still fun!

This game is so awesome.. I am a fan of the tv show and when i heard it was going to be a pc game i just had it get.. My fave part is the shopping for new clothes for your contesant(duh! im only a normal girl here). My least fave part is singing i didnt know you had to sing but i found out there is a section to have you mic off and you dont sing.. This game is so fun yet it takes at least 1 to 2hours to play depending on how long it take for you get 1000 star power.. Yeah you have to earn 1000 star power then the first one to the American Idol stage gets a bonus(100 starpower) then you do you last preformance and the one with the most star power at the end wins and gets to record a video and is able to post on the American Idol game website.. Ive posted like 9 so far.. If you like American Idol and to shy about trying out for real heres you chance to try out and not have Simmon saying how bad you are.. This is game gets a A+ and more..

I came on and read reviews for this game.At that time most where not good,people saying that the game was a chep trick.But I like it.The songs'artists include,Enrique Iglesias,Mya,S Club 7, Christina Milian, A*Teens, ATC, 98 Degrees, 3 Doors Down, Aqua, Jackson 5, Samantha Mumba, Shaggy, and afew others.The game it's self,(Road to Fame),is set up kinda like a board game.I've only had it 2 or 3 hours and have won 3 times and lost onece.The games even comes with a mic because at times you have to sing.You can even make your own version of the single tracks your idol dances to.Overall,if you like singing,dancing,pop music,playing games,or American Idol,you'll like this game.

I was really surprised by the depth, it's much more than what you see on the show. It covers a lot of what a star in waiting will experience, and it does it in a fun, playful way. You are competing a lot of the time to get what you need to move ahead, and doing some singing as well (a small microphone is included, and the judges are listening!).

There's a lot of behind the scenes activity. You have to put together a wardrobe, choreograph your dance sequences, earn star power by doing the right thing, and ultimately bring it all together in a killer video performance that you design, which you can put on the website for others to see and judge.

For me, the best aspect is the fact you can record your voice onto hit songs and then choreograph your on-stage performance to them. And, if you want to do it again and again, you can!
