I am a huge American Idol fan and did not know what to expect when I purchased this game. I was pleasantly surprised! Great gameplay! The interactive feel with the judges and cool karaoke sections of the game are great. The best part is the DVD which does not repeat clips. I don't know if this a coincedence or actually planned by the makers of the game. Either way, it rocks! Perfect game for those who like to hear themselves sing!

I love the TV show and i am so glad they came up with such a great game.

Bought this game for my nieces to play, but the whole family ended up playing it with them. Sometimes you have to do karaoke and sometimes you have to do dance karaoke. It was hilarious...especially for the girls watching us dads and moms bust a move! It turns out this is a great family game!

My family has played this game a few times and we love it! The best part is the karaoke singing and the judges comments are pretty funny too. The DVD also has trivia questions and it's fun to see who knows the most about our favorite show. Overall, I would definitley recommend it to anybody who loves American Idol.

If you watch American Idol at least once a month, you'll enjoy this game because face it, there's some part of you that wants to be up there among the contestants!
The reality is that this game is the closest that most of us will ever get, and while its not the real thing, playing this game can be just as funny as watching the show!

In brief ... the adults thought it was really bad and just a money maker with little thought to quality. We thought it could have been a lot of fun. ... the kids had fun, but also complained early while playing the game. Complaints were mainly about the judge random & repeated comments and the kids got confused a couple times following the dvd. Only two of the game choices were actually activities and the others involved sitting & watching really bad old performances. Everyone of all ages got bored with that. Also, the music was digital techno sounding junk and made it all sound the same. It was really poor quality music. Over all, I wouldn't buy it. It would be better to buy Karoke Cd's. PS -- I hate writing reviews, but this one needed it.

I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about! This is the worst game we have ever played and there is absolutely no skill involved whatsoever. The only thing I can think of is that these other reviewers think that the microphone that comes with the game is real and they are getting real feedback from the judges. (the microphone is just a wireless plastic thing with an echo chamber in it - it's not connected to the game in any way)
Basically you get a challenge to do karaoke or dance, and then when you are done you press a button and a random review pops up(often the same one as your last turn) - the game has no way of knowing how you actually did and it is absolutely pointless to even do the challenge.
Our family loves American Idol but we are throwing this game out on the curb after the first and only pointless game we played. "Pick up Sticks" is more fun than this thing!!!!! It stinks that I even have to give this thing one star to submit this review - if possible I would give it 0.

I recently purchased this American Idol game for my 9 year old neice for Christmas. Both she and my oldest neice love American Idol, so I thought she/they would like this game.

Well... they love it. When I called my family to wish them all a Happy New Year, they were all playing it... and they had already played it once or twice before. All I could hear on the other end of the phone was singing and laughing. The game made a hit! My sister thanked me for getting it for them.

Even though I can't review this game as an actual player, the proof is in the reactions of the ones who I bought it for and who have played it...... and Randy says, "We've got a hot one, dog!". LOL!

Wonderful for the whole family specially for the kids. It is great for samll groups as an icebreaker game. Highly recommended.

While not being an American Idol fan I found the game to be entertaining never the less. Family members who watch the show religiously found the game to be amazing and very interactive. They were able to test their American Idol trivia knowledge as well as belt out a few toons and cut a few rugs. Great product for the casual to devote American Idol fan.
