A different perspective on gemstone healing,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing (Paperback)
I'm still not sure what I think of this book.
Some of the information found within this book seems pretty far off from other information that I have read (from numerous sources) about healing and working with gemstones. The author suggests that using more than one stone on a chakra can be dangerous. Likewise sitting within a stone grid. Some of the listed methods for cleaning your stones are different than I have heard before. My take on the subject is this: Don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, and do what makes you happy. I've never been one for strict ritual and I feel that I have great success working with stones in whatever way suits me. Sometimes I use running tap water to clean my stones, sometimes breath, incense or sage, sometimes salt. The stones tell me what they need. Perhaps certain rituals are developed for people to help develop their intuitive powers or to feel more connected. There was a section in the book that discussed the use of red cloth as a protective barrier for your stones. To quote: "if you are carrying some crystals that are, from an energy point of view, fragile (for some ceremonial or personal use), you must protect them from the energy from other people. It is therefor important to keep your crystals wrapped in red fabric and protected from outside forces." I found this quite interesting, and had a woman make me several red flannel cloth bags. I felt an immediate difference once I switched over to the red cloth bag for carrying my "every day" stones in my purse. There's good information in this book - I suggest reading it, digesting what you need & recycling what doesn't.

The Ultimate Book For Crystal Healing,
By A Customer
This review is from: The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing (Paperback)
If you want pictures and properties of crystals, look for Judy Hall and Melody, but if you want SAFE instructions on how to use crystlas for healing purposes, search no longer. I have read a few books on crystal healing, but I was very sceptacle about putting crystals on my chakras, especially after Edgar Cayce (the Sleeping Prophet) warned people against this saying that it's dangerous. This book is THE book to get for safe instructions. Crystals are nothing to mess with if you're not sure what you're doing.

The best book on crystals and their care and use I have read,
By A Customer
This review is from: The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing (Paperback)
Written from the perspective of Mother Earth, this book covers the basics of crystals and their use and care. At times, against traditional teaching, but I feel this is a truer path than the others I have read and used.

An important work, it shares a sacred tradition.,

The author clearly states the importance of self clarity in one's work with crystals. He quides and encourages the reader in personal and mystical paths. Luc Bourgault shares his knowledge and love of all living elements, programming the book as carefully as he guides readers in the programming of crystal work. Well done.

Incredible Resource,

In this book you not only find out how to cleanse, program and use crystals, the author has an excellent point of view. Even if you don't use the gemstones for healing his philosophy is something we can all live by. A most "enlightening" read.

This book is page turner. Every chapter reveals precious little secrets bestowed with a feeling of a divine presence. I felt I was being led on a journey of enlightenment. Truly a religious experience. Just loved it.
Last night I experimented with one of Luc Bourgault's "Practical Exercises" namely - sleeping with a crystal, and held a clear quartz in my hand when I went to bed. "Many minor ailments ... will be cured simply through the crystal's perfection tuning into yours and amplifying your natural state of good health." I awoke feeling top-notch, invigorated and completely in tune with the universe plus my digestive system made a complete turn-around. Regarding The Therapeutic Touch chapter, I do feel that Reiki is a more comprehensive approach. And with Reiki, since you don't use your own energy, the "fatigue" factor or draining of your own energy is eliminated.

A simple and elegantly written book. The author often writes from the crystal's perspective! I shall read it several times more for sure. This is my favorite book on the subject. Mr. Bourgault knows the healing arts. Forget the scientific mumbo-jumbo and color photos for a moment from other books. Mr. Bourgault understands crystal healing from a Mother Earth point of view and speaks to the reader spiritually. For example, to paraphrase one bit of his advice: one must heal the crystal which is oneself before you can ever expect to treat someone else. Spirituality is so very important yet largely ignored by other crystal books. Read Luc Bourgault's words and they will resonate in your heart. You just know what he is saying is right. He has done us all a favor by leaving his foot prints for us to follow.

By MoonCoach "www.MoonCoach.com" (Silvia Pancaro) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing (Paperback)
This book was wonderfully written, in a simple and easy to understand style. It covered the basic steps necessary to embarking on any and all spiritual healing paths, which most other 'how to' books seem to miss entirely.
For those of you just starting, please buy this book! You will learn simple procedures for setting up a safe & sacred space in which to focus your own energies. Don't expect pictures or glossy shots of stones - but do look forward to great information! Silvia - www.tarotmysteryschool.com www.theflyingmermaid.net

A diverse view on a very broad topic,
By
This review is from: The American Indian: Secrets of Crystal Healing (Paperback)
This book is very down-to-earth and approachable by those who are newcomers, although the author is touting a sense of authority and authenticity over all else, although some very good information is presented here.
Much of the geological/mineralogical information accompanying the descriptions of the crystals contained herein is less than accurate, and this does produce bias on my behalf. The author has studied under notable elders, and the healing information presented is practical and efficient, but thos book offers little as far as in-depth or advanced studies go. Much of the information is over simplistic and can be monotonous, and Bourgault is very wary of all things "New Age" and, hence, bashes the credibility of the entire lot of them, despite the fact that the majority are not so untrustworthy (even if redundant). Some key exercises in this book are excellent for any crystal healer, and anyone interested in Native American spirituality may find this book to lend a window into cultural and spiritual aspects of working with crystals.

If you buy 10 books on crystals you'll come up with 10 different things each stone is supposed to do. So I got to thinking, I need to go back to an original source like ancient egypt, african, native american, mayan, etc. This book was more to my liking. Most of the other books advise sea salt for cleansing, this book does not advise it and says why. I was waiting to get some stones to do my natal chart crystal healing and I saw in this book why that was not advisable. It also gave me a clue about "birthstones". Very authentic and I highly recommend. Tried to get it from 4 local city libraries before purchasing but none of them had it yet they had all the more popular books. That really made me want this. Highly recommend.
