The first book he ever wrote - Rhubarb Culture - became an instant cult classic. His other writings have appeared in newspapers, magazines & blogs. Doug Shear was born in Miami, Florida. He's been writing since he was ten years old, and achieved his first rejection slip when he was seventeen.

He has held numerous jobs including: Phone book delivery boy, Security Guard, Airport baggage Inspector, Survey taker, Attic fan installer,insulation salesman,Art Supply salesman, Backgammon Teacher, Substitute Teacher, English Teacher, Business Teacher, Florist, Pest Control Technician, Apartment Manager, Hotel Manager, Laboratory Accreditation Manager, Advertising Account Executive
Marketing and Business Development Vice President, and Nuisance Wildlife Removal Expert.

His first play, "Saint Peter at the Gate" was produced in Toronto and Miami. He began doing stand-up comedy as a bizarre reaction to the economic collapse and his inability to get a job.

He hasn't rocked the world yet, but just wait. You'll see. You'll all see. Buwah ha ha!
