4.0 out of 5 stars Great for what it is
Great product for what it is. It is a piece of high quality, but thin, stainless steel with a slightly rolled edge on three sides; that's it and nothing more.

The price is right and it has one very rare feature, it is MADE-IN-THE-USA!!!! I've been using them for about three months now and have only one complaint:

When I received my cookie sheet I tested it with a magnet - it is magnetic which means it is not 18/10. See below for the company's response to my email inquiry about how an 18/10 item could be magnetic. They admit that the cookie sheets made recently are made of 18/0 because of a manufacturing mix-up. The most annoying part was that it took another email from me asking what they were going to do about it for them to offer to send me a new cookie sheet (free) made from 18/10. In that follow-up email they also claim that they stopped selling the defective cookie sheets as soon as the error was discovered -- well, apparently not soon enough to avoid sending some to Amazon (and presumably many other retailers) for distribution. So, if you are buying this item anytime soon (or bought it recently) my advice is to test it with a magnet; if it is magnetic, send an email to Chris Robason at the company (see below) who responded to my inquiry and ask for a replacement.

The two-star rating is a reflection of the mediocre response from the company, not of the performance of the item (I have not yet receved the replacement item made from 18/10).

Here is the email I received in response to my email inquiry to the company:

My name is Chris Robason. I am the National Sales Manager for Regal Ware. I understand you had a question regarding our Stainless Steel Cookie Sheet.

The cookie sheet is made from 18/0 stainless steel, not 18/10. The steel we used to produce cookie sheets recently was 18/0 and not 18/10. We're not sure if this was a mix up from our steel supplier, or a mistake we made internally when the cookie sheets were manufactured. That is all being reviewed by our manufacturing team here in Wisconsin.

18/10 steel and 18/0 steel are completely identical. The second number in a steels formulation is Nickel. 18/10 steel means that the steel is comprised of 18% Chromium (which gives steel its classic look) and 10% nickel (Nickel give steel more tensile strength and provides a higher resistance to corrosion over time). 18/0 stainless steel contains the same % of Chromium but contains no Nickel. But 18/0 stainless will not discolor, or turn black, or anything else for that matter. The only difference between 18/10 stainless and 18/0 stainless is that 18/0 stainless steel will begin to show signs of staining faster than 18/10 stainless due to the absence of Nickel. But if you were to use both side by side it would be impossible to notice a difference.

Having said all of that, the Cookie Sheet is supposed to be made out of 18/10 stainless steel. We have already ordered the correct steel. It is on its way to our facility here in Wisconsin. My guess is that by the end of next week we should have 18/10 stainless steel cookie sheets manufactured and ready for shipment.

If you should have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Regards,

Chris Robason

It is so thin that it sometimes warps when placed in a very hot oven; shape returns once cooled. If they were slightly thicker they would be perfect.

I would recommend it.

Glad I could find a cookie sheet made in the USA that does not have non-stick on it!
They do warp in the oven sometimes, but always lay flat after cooling. I have found baked goods need a few more minutes to cook on stainless steel. I always line with parchment. Clean up is easy too.
I have several of American Kitchens's items. None have disppointed.

These cookie sheets are excellent quality. If you've been using the cheapo cookie sheets, adjust your temperature and cooking time. Cookies will cook and brown faster. I have not had the problem other people reported of heat warping-the sheets stayed flat. It's wonderful to have the 'real thing' again and they clean well; so no dark spots or residues to affect future baking.American Kitchen Stainless Steel 12 Inch x 15 Inch Cookie Sheet

2.0 out of 5 stars Lower quality than the last sheet I bought of the same, January 3, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: American Kitchen by Regal Ware Stainless Steel 12 inch x 15 inch Cookie Sheet (Kitchen)
I purchased this same baking sheet a few weeks ago and I love it. I decided to buy a second of the exact same so I could have two. I had read in another review of a quality issue. I think the stainless steel is okay, since I did the magnet trick and there was no magnification. But I knew immediately when I pulled it out of the box that it was a lower quality item than what I had purchased before. MY earlier purchase had a nice study feel to it and it didn't wobble in my hand. It was firm and nice. This one I just bought wobbles, or twists sort of, while being held. It also makes that metallic popping noise when it twists. It also feels thinner than my other one. I'm sending it back. I paid the same amount for this one as my other one, but the product is cheaply made compared to my first sheet. I'm disappointed, because I love my one sheet I do have. This second one is not good at all. I don't know if they have differnt levels of quality sheets or they have cheapened the materials involved.
