The install instructions are weak. I googled SWF to figure out I needed to install Shock Wave Flash to actually get it to work. You can copy the disk contents to your hard drive so the app runs fast and quiet. Since it is SWF instead of a normal Windows App it is quite quirky; you have to click on things a couple times to get them to work. I really like that there are thousands of tiny videos to watch. I'm using Windows 8 in desktop mode.
They have about 20 categories containing about 20 signs each which is handy. I would have really appreciated being able to make my own categories but there is nothing extensible about this app. You can configure it to show videos either fast or slow.
They also have a similar signs button to list signs that one may confuse with the one showing. My question is why have a button? Why not just show the list?
They also have 26 letters down the side so you can see a subset of words to pick from. I like this because I can study 1/26 of the thousands of words at a time.
I really wish they had made a game interface for the dictionary to make it fun to learn. This product is good but it could have been so much more.
